Mountain Trekking and Tonngachang waterfalls

Holiday! Weekend....ha..ha...everybody is happy, many plans where to go, what to do or just stay at home, do chores and rest etc etc. But for me its time for some adventure so with my friends I decided to go to the nearby waterfalls. Eight of us contributed money for the food,(he. ..he... it's important, both money and food, you know...), fare and entrance fee - not too expensive trip...we are all modest in spending... huh.....

We cooked Filipino dishes like Chicken adobo, Pork afritada and Sweetened banana for dessert (will be posting all these recipes one day...promise...). We helped each other to prepare food and early morning on Saturday at 9AM we headed to see the waterfalls.

We hired Tuktuk - this is a common man's/lady's vehicle in Thailand - and the travel took about 45 minutes from the city of Hatyai in Southern Thailand to the waterfalls nearby. Entrance fee is 20 Bath for Thai citizens and 200 Bath for the tourists.... hehehehe.... big difference...Tonngachang Waterfalls is a well preserved tourist destination, it has seven falls.
First - Tone Ba
Second - Tone Plew 200 m. from the first level
Third - Tone nga chang 450 m.
Fourth - Tone Dum 700 m.
Fifth - Tone Namproy 1050 m.
Sixth - Tone Ruesrikoybo 1300 m.
and the Seventh - Tone Metchoon 1550 m.
There are restaurants, guest houses, buildings for conferences and meetings, they also provide tents for camping and overnight stay.

As we reached there, we were the group who reached there first on that day and we were able to select a good spot to hang around. There are wooden tables and benches but it is more comfortable and fun to sit on the grass if u can bring a mat. Without any bla... bla... bla....we promptly started eating....yummy.... hahahahahahha....we were all hungry...ohhhhhhhhhhhh.... Hmmmmmm...... delicious and tasty food. After emptying everything we brought we cleaned the premises.
The most important thing is, guests are not allowed to take any food or drinks, shampoo etc to the falls but I asked permission to take some water with me. You can imagine.... climbing the mountain makes you thirsty...it was a warm day....
It is advisable to wear good quality footwear because the trails are rocky, some are slippery. Lots of big roots..wow..... We removed our slippers sometimes and held onto the rocks and trees tightly to avoid a "fall in the waterfalls".
Going up was easy for me and going down was very difficult I don't know with others. I was very very careful.
We were able to see the first and second levels of the falls where many people were swimming both children and adults. These two levels are not too high.
And we took pictures, clicked here and there, MANY MANY SNAPS.....How are those snaps? he.. he... and we started to climb on to the third level, more difficult and higher, we were sweating, thirsty..... we shared the water.
When we reached the middle of the trail we finished our drinking water....he..he..... but everybody was eager to see the third level as we heard it's more beautiful than the first and second levels.

Thank God, we reached the third level.....wow..... it's amazing....... so beautiful......... there's a pool like area there and people can swim there like they do in a pool. We swam, took snaps, videos. We were all happy and we enjoyed very well. We didn't mind the sunlight that really burnt our skin. We decided to go down sadly but we wanted to see the seventh level, the most beautiful level but we could not because we had no water to drink and not enough time also. Next time we have to reach there early...... hehehe...so that will not miss the fourth to seventh levels.
It was nice experience!
